Say goodbye to paint smells.
Worried about Paint smell? Paint odour? High paint VOC? High paint emissions? You don't have to be.
The Tidy Painter can now paint your home interiors with much, much less smell!
The Tidy Painter can now paint your home interiors with much, much less smell!

You want to have the interior of your home painted. But the PAINT SMELL OR ODOUR is putting you off, especially if it's WINTER and open windows are less of an option.
Or you (or a loved one) might be allergic or sensitive to the gases that evaporate from wet paint as it dries.
The TRADITIONAL interior painting method is to use OIL BASED PAINT for doors and windows and WATER BASED Wash & Wear type paint for walls. This process is standard because it gives the best visual appearance when finished and gives the toughest, most hard wearing ‘skin’.
Both oil based and standard water based paints create an odour, which until now, home owners have just had to put up with.
Some people have no problem with the smell.
Some don’t like it, but it passes in a week, so they live with it.
And others find it very hard to take … one client of mine literally broke out in a rash!
So I looked into an alternative. And now I’VE GOT THE SOLUTION.
LOW-SMELL PAINTING.
There have been some low odour paints available for a while but they were very chalky and left a patchy visual result. Also they were weak and didn’t last very long.
Now market leader DULUX has introduced a range of interior paints that have “Ultra Low Chemical Emissions and Ultra Low Odour”. The ULTRA-AIR range uses the latest paint technology to reduce emissions as much as possible and still maintain paint quality and strength (which has been an issue until now).
It's important to note that these new products have to be applied in a different way to regular paint. Its all to do with the faster drying properties. There are extra priming coats on Trim/Woodwork. And the paint itself is more expensive. This chart might explain it better:
