The cost to paint the interior of a house.
How do I get an accurate interior house painting quotes? Many details have to be taken into consideration.
YOUR HOME
- Age/design of home which dictates:
- Skirting boards
- Picture rails
- Doors
- Windows
- Floor coverings
- Stairs
- Walls
- Ceiling decoration
- Ceiling height
- Built in shelves and wardrobes
- The condition and age of the above surfaces?
- The design of the above surfaces?
- What has been applied to the above surfaces already?
- Any plaster or timber repairs that need to be made?
- Any mould that needs to be removed?
- Stickers, blue tac, hooks, shelves, curtains that need to be removed?
- Room dimensions?
- Access to your home? Stairs, driveway, parking?
- How much furniture needs to be moved?
YOUR BUDGET
- Do you want 'best of the best' quality paint? Or 'pretty good'? Or something in between?
- Do you have a budget constraint or limit in mind? I can work with you to get the maximum work and quality for a stated budget.
- Do you have no idea at all what to expect cost wise? I can often give you a 'ball-park' estimate over the phone before we meet and you can decide if we should take this further.
- Have you spoken to a number of painters already? If you tell me why they didn't make the cut perhaps I can help.
- Are you looking for the lowest possible price? Thats fine. But I'm not your man.
YOUR PAINTING PROJECT
- What do you want to change? New colour? Same colour but freshened up? Lighter rooms? Damage repair?
- We usually work on 2 rooms at a time. Do you have a preference about order?
- Are you planning a special occasion on a certain date that we should know about?
- Will you be away on holidays for any part of the project? This is a good time for us to paint your bedroom.
- Do you have colours chosen or can we help?
- Do you want us to paint samples colours to help decide?
- Do you have any other renovations planned? Best advice: All other trades, THEN painting, THEN floorboard sanding and carpet replacement. We can come back and do skirting touchups for free.
