5 Interior paint colour ideas that solve nearly all your problems.
Dulux colours are a great place to start when choosing what shade to paint your walls.
My clients tell me that, after choosing which painter to go with, colour selection is the next hardest part of the whole process. But picking the right wall colour can be surprisingly easy.
I’ve helped many clients radically improve their homes with the right colour … by keeping it simple.
Here are my observations on wall colour choices for most people. (NOTE: If you or your colourist want something else, thats great. These tips are for people who are going crazy trying to decide.)
1. Use Vivid White on your ceilings and Trim.
No brainer. Works with everything.
2. Most people are happy with some kind of white on the walls. You are probably too.
By 'some kind of white' I mean white, cream, off white, eggshell, very light grey etc.
3. There are really only 3 kinds of white: Vivid White, a Cool White and a Warm White.
Vivid white is just pure white so theres not deciding needed.
Cool Whites and Warm Whites come in hundreds of variations. Once they are on the wall and the sun is moving around, these hundreds of variations are VERY hard to tell apart. Thats why I've helpfully suggested only 2 options for cool whites and 2 options for warm whites. I've selected this very short, short-list based on what Dulux sells the most of and what I've been asked to apply over the years.
So, I've narrowed down thousands of confusing interior colour options to just 5. Get clicking! Have a look!
