Painting Quotes
Looking for painting quotes from a local interior house painter? You’ve come to the right place!
GET A SPECIALIST PAINTING QUOTE
When looking for a painter, before you start spending a lot of time ringing around for quotes, its vital to narrow down exactly what you need. Painters, like most trades, become specialists either by choice or by circumstance. So its pretty important for you to get quotes from a painter that is experienced and/or an expert in your painting problem.
If you need the exterior of you unit block painted it doesn't make sense to waste time talking to a wallpaper guy. Nor is it smart to get quotes from a company that claims to do everything from painting ships to furniture.
In short: TALK TO A SPECIALIST!
TYPES OF PAINTERS
1. INTERIOR PAINTERS. If you have an interior that needs painting it makes sense to get quotes and award the job to an interior painting specialist. I am an interior painting specialist and even after all these years of ONLY PAINTING INTERIORS I'm learning new things every day. Interior painting needs to be much more accurate and detailed. That's because you see it in your home every day, in all light conditions, up close! And your walls, ceilings and trim (substrate) are of course made of different stuff to your exteriors. And finally, your furniture, carpet, floors, and precious things are all inside so an interior painter has to be very careful not to make a mess and ruin your stuff!
2. 'WE DO IT ALL' PAINTERS. A lot of companies claim expertise in 'Commercial, Residential and Retail, Interior and Exterior Painting.' To be fair, they have probably done a lot of one kind of painting and are good at it. It would just be nice to know what! And call for a quote when you need that expertise.
3. EXTERIOR PAINTERS. Painting exteriors is dangerous work. Dealing with long ladders and high scaffolding are skills in themselves. Using high pressure water to clean exteriors makes the work even more difficult. Then the repairs, undercoats and top coats of paint have to withstand high heat and cold, rain, frost and wind. So the materials themselves are different to those used in interiors. There literally is OUTSIDE paint and INSIDE paint.
4. HIGH RISE PAINTERS. Super high scaffolding. Abseiling (hanging from ropes) and all the stuff above about exterior painting.
5. NEW CONSTRUCTION PAINTERS. May paint interiors but these interiors are always new. The main difference is that new construction painters don't have to deal with pesky furniture, owners or even carpet! they can be as messy as they like to the floor as long as the surfaces look good. Carpet and flooring usually goes in last.
6. RENTAL PAINTERS. Fast cheap and usually not super high quality. The landlord wants his or her property back on the market ASAP. So fine work is not tolerated or even wanted.
7. DECKING PAINTERS & FLOORING FINISHERS. Both specialist trades.
8. BIG JOB PAINTERS. These guys often don't even pick up a brush but rather hire sub-contractors to do the 'hands on' work. Nothing wrong with that, but if you have an interior painting job, you don't want different strangers turning up each day.
I think you get the picture. If you need an interior painter to provide a quote, and you live in the Lower North Shore of Sydney, I CAN HELP. (If you need a different kind of painter's quote, you need to dig into Google and find a SPECIALIST to help you.)
