How to get the best price or quote for painting your home.
There are 4 things you need to do to get the best possible painting price or quote for your home:
1. Choose the RIGHT type of painting company. They are NOT all the same. Hiring a high rise exterior scaffolding firm for your bathroom ceiling will end in tears. Click here for more info.
2. Ask for references from past clients.
Phone numbers are best. Written references are OK. (A painter who can't present one single happy customer is not the sort of person you want.) Click here for more info.
3. Choose the guy who is keen, punctual and a specialist in what you need.
4. The cheapest quote is almost NEVER the best quote.
If you are tempted to go cheap, your experience will be bad and the paint job will need to be redone much earlier. (Trust me, I've hired too many cheap trades for my house. The results are paving with lakes, electricians without ladders, a sleazy concreter, and a one armed labourer!)
